A fantastic effort by DT Faculty to produce PPE for NHS!
A fantastic effort is being made by members of the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Design Faculty to produce PPE items for essential use by NHS staff. DT staff are joining DT staff UK wide to assist the NHS by using their innovative skills during these challenging times. Last week Product Design Subject Leader, Mrs Lalli, and Technology Technician Mrs Andrews rose to the challenge and were busy designing and making PPE wear for NHS staff using a 3D printer. Their goal was to produce one hundred shields and they turned their classrooms into a production line!
An additional note! Mrs Lalli delivered face shields to a GP surgery in Watford, which were greatly appreciated by the staff. Pictured above is one of the doctors wearing his shield. Mrs Andrews was also able to deliver seventeen face shields to a group of community nurses in Oxford, and a further fifteen are due to be delivered to Harefield Hospital via caretaker Mr John Healy. Well done Mrs Lalli and team, and to all staff who have played a part in the distribution of shields - a truly fantastic help to our wonderful NHS!
