Students attend Franklin Scholars Award Ceremony
Year 10 students from ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì visited Kings College, London, to attend the Franklin Scholars’ Award Ceremony on Thursday 7th July, accompanied by teacher and Franklin Scholar coordinator Miss Ramsbottom. The students had an enjoyable day in London, as the Franklin Scholars organisation celebrated the achievements of the scholars during 2015- 2016.
Congratulations to all students involved in the scheme, who all won awards for their various roles in the scheme. Students Matt McKarell and Sasha Chimbumu gave a speech at the ceremony (see below) and Katherine Phocas and Vicky Gonzalez are seen displaying their well deserved award certificates.
Franklin Scholars is an organisation that is aligned with schools to drive results through peer tutoring and coaching, which helps to build key skills for all the students involved in the scheme. The scheme also assists in developing strong, independent learners, and can be beneficial in easing the transition from primary to secondary school for many students.
