Black History Month
October is Black History Month (BHM), an opportunity to share, celebrate and understand the impact of black heritage and culture. A fascinating assembly was given to all students by Headteacher, Mr Sutherland, which highlighted the new theme launched by BHM inspiring Black and Brown people of all ages through the UK to share what they are proud of.
Mr Sutherland referred to what makes us proud at ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì and the importance of implementing our vision of dignity for all. He reflected on the importance of learning about our students’ heritage, culture in recognising their stories for years to come. The presentation ended with last year’s Deputy Head girl, Christina Dumitriu Jackson, in sharing her story.
